Abstract
This article studies the processes and results produced by the intergenerational collaboration between children and their grandparents with a view to exploring the therapeutic effects on the elderly people. It aims at describing how an innovative methodology (developed by the Psycholinguistics Faculty of Sapientia University in Rome) used in teaching foreign languages to very young learners was carried out in Romania by the EuroEd Foundation, Iasi, as part of a project funded by the European Union under the Lifelong Learning Program: BILFAM (Bilingual Families) in 2010/2012. The model based on intergenerational family learning shows that the affective relationship between adults and children has improved the foreign language learning process of participants and brought benefits to both adults and children.
