Abstract :
In this paper a stereovision impression based optional tool for operators of monitoring systems is proposed and the method based on control of perception of the object depth in 2D and 3D video streams is described. Two variants of the object depth control were considered: a method implemented in the 2D to 3D conversion scheme and a method applied to the original 3D video. Therefore, the experiments for examination of the overall image quality and the perceived object depth were conducted on: original 2D images, images after 2D to 3D conversion, original 3D images, and processed 3D images (in order to increase the perceived object depth). The proposed method occurred to be capable to significantly increase the perceived object depth range maintaining an acceptable overall image quality and no visible distortions within regions of the observed objects.
