Abstract
We propose a wideband and dual polarized open-ended waveguide antenna for array element. In the proposed antenna, excitation probes of the waveguide for each polarization are stacked on different substrates. In order to equalize distances between excitation probe and electrical bottom for each polarization, metal slits parallel to electric field of upper probe are placed at antenna bottom. It relieves characteristic difference between polarizations. Additionally, by using branched strip line in plane with excitation probes, feed circuit can be easily formed. We designed the antenna element and the four-element array with branched strip line. Low reflection and similar gains were obtained in both polarizations.
