Abstract :
The resonance and antiresonance behavior of the effective parameters in dielectric composites consisting of array of dielectric spheres are investigated. By comparing the analytical solution based on Mie theory and Clausius-Mossotti relation with the full-wave analysis based on finite element method, it is shown that the negativeness of the imaginary part of the effective permittivity and permeability is a consequence of the coupling interactions between the induced electric and magnetic dipoles.
