Abstract :
Phase compensation prefiltering is experimentally investigated for multipath channels over the frequency band spanning 2-12 GHz, a topic which to the best of our knowledge has not been studied in the literature on ultrawideband (UWB) systems. We assess the capabilities of PC over realistic Line-Of-Sight (LOS) and Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) UWB channels regarding multipath suppression. The “RMS delay spread” and “peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR)” are calculated as two basic parameters to evaluate the effectiveness of this prefilter. Our study suggests PC can be considered as a powerful technique to mitigate the UWB multipath dispersions in realistic environments for high-speed data transmissions.
