Abstract :
Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) promises a safer and more enriching driving experience in the near future. To design an optimum wireless link for ITS, the channel behavior should be studied carefully. Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) channels are very dynamic and dependent on many factors. Extensive measurement campaigns are required to learn more about these wireless channels. Therefore, wireless channel measurements are critical in these studies. There is a need for a simple and cost-effective channel test-bed for DSRC systems. In this paper we focus on using a cost efficient test-bed for ITS. The design is based on software-defined radio using USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) and National Instruments (NI) Labview software platform.
