Abstract
A 60 GHz millimeter-wave (mmW) monopole antenna with slot defected ground structure is presented in this paper. After designing a simple monopole antenna, the slot defected ground structure is applied for wider and deeper bandwidth of the antenna. The center frequency of the proposed antenna can be controlled by the movable partial suspended patch for diverse millimeter-wave (mmW) applications. A movable partial patch is suspended on the monopole antenna using a supporting post. The proposed antenna provides a return loss of 10 dB from 59.5 GHz to 60.5 GHz at a center frequency of 60.1 GHz with the deepest return loss of 29.9 dB.
