Abstract :
A non-Foster matching network has been designed and implemented for a given antenna impedance. The measured results show a broadband matching bandwidth which is around seventeen times the bandwidth obtained from passive matching. Further, the efficiency of a general non-Foster matched antenna over an unmatched antenna has been studied by analyzing the signal to noise ratio (SNR) improvement in received signals. In order to obtain improved SNR with non-Foster matching, an upper limit on the noise of the non-Foster circuit has been derived. The noise of our designed non-Foster matching network has then been analyzed.
