Abstract
The hollow conductor is the key component for the stator bar of the evaporative cooling hydrogenerator. In order to make a good design of the 1000MW-grade huge evaporative cooling hydrogenerators as well as the optimal evaporative cooling system, the characteristic research of different size hollow conductors was carried out through computing and experimental method. Thermodynamic characteristics including the temperature distribution and pressure distribution are presented in this paper. Those results let us make the selection of the proper hollow conductor and give some useful clues to guide the future design of the huge evaporative cooling hydrogenerator.
