Abstract
A sudden voltage decrease may be occurred in a transmission system by a lightning stroke and so on. Three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors (IMs) are used as load equipment for commercial power supply drives. Therefore, clarifying the effects of a voltage dip on the characteristics of an IM is very important. In this study, the transient characteristics of an IM under the condition of a voltage dip in two out of three-phase voltage are examined, and the IM performance features under various voltage dip conditions are summarized.
