Abstract
A five-leg inverter is suitable to drive two motors, which lowers the system hardware cost and realizes the fault-tolerant operation of dual motor drive system. In this paper, an improved PWM modulation method is proposed for five-leg inverters, in which the voltage transfer ratio of five-leg inverter is enhanced by adjusting and optimizing the voltage space vector. Simulation and experimental tests have conducted, which verify that two motors are independently controlled and the voltage transfer ratio has been enhanced effectively.
