  • Abstract
This paper deals with development of superconducting-hybrid magnetic levitation system that could be utilized in the high-speed EMS maglev. In order to develop this system, we suggest design feasibility for electromagnets for the levitation system from design parameters to be utilized in the German high-speed maglev, Transrapid. A small-scale prototype was fabricated and tested under the demonstrative operation condition of the high-speed maglev. The tests were successful and proved the design feasibility as the levitation system for the high-speed EMS maglev.
