Abstract
This paper focuses on attenuation of high-frequency (HF) electromagnetic noise commonly caused by high-frequency switching devices. A full bridge single-phase SPWM inverter switched by IGBT is employed to drive an ac motor, which is usually widely used in many domestic and industrial applications. More the switching frequency is high more electromagnetic interference (EMI) is considerably generated. That is why an EMI reduction method is necessary to be applied in the system. The proposed method herein is passive low-pass EMI filtering that can reduce noise in machine drive in order to prevent device damage and improve the efficiency of overall motor drive system.
