Abstract
In this paper, a 120slot/116pole PM generator with single-layer concentrated winding is studied under static eccentricity fault. Distribution of flux density is computed in the airgap using finite element analysis. Then, using Maxwell´s stress tensor, radial force density distribution is calculated. Harmonic analysis of radial force density in healthy and faulty cases are presented for no-load and load conditions. Total forces acting on the teeth and unbalanced magnetic forces are calculated and compared for different degrees of eccentricity. Changes in the magnitude of selected harmonics in the frequency spectrum of different output signals due to eccentricity are also discussed.
