Abstract :
A method for constructing simulated time series of wind speed, based on a statistical wind atlas and meteorological observations of wind speed, is developed. The series are constructed to have the same statistical distribution as the wind atlas and the same seasonal variation, autocorrelation and cross correlation as the observations. The method is accompanied by an algorithm written in Matlab. It has been tested using a new wind atlas for Iceland.
