IP tuner integration in a DVB software stack

This paper will show one solution for integrating IPTV support in an existing DVB broadcast software stack on Android DTV platform, enabling it to play services provided over IPTV with no hardware changes. The main goal of this implementation was to introduce a new feature with minimal changes of the existing DVB software stack. For this purpose idea of a virtual IP tuner concept is introduced. This way the software can be more easily managed in the future since most of the modifications will automatically affect both DVB and IP path. Some basic problems regarding this approach shall be also discussed.
