Abstract :
In this paper, an investigation on the effect of F/D ratio on gain for folded reflectarray antenna (FRA) is presented. Quantization phase errors which are the major contribution to losses of reflectarray are presented with different F/D ratios. In order to reduce the quantization phase error, a folded reflectarray antenna with high F/D ratio is preferred. A pair of FRAs with F/D of 0.5 and 1 is chosen to fabricated, measured and compared at 42GHz, respectively. A gain improvement of 0.8dB is achieved when the larger F/D, namely 1, is adopted to the antenna.
