Abstract
The steady state behaviour of a power system is usually determined through power flow analysis. This paper proposes a simple method of incorporating the model of a squirrel-cage induction generator used in a fixed speed wind farm into conventional power flow programs to evaluate the steady state results. All parameters of exact equivalent circuit of the generator are carefully incorporated into input data file of the program. Unlike previous methods, no modification to source codes of the program or computational algorithm is required. The proposed method is then tested on a simple radial system and a 5-bus meshed system.
