Abstract :
The large scale wind power exploitation and its concentrated integration put forward higher requirements for transmission technology. Considering power production changes caused by fluctuating wind, an active power control strategy is proposed for VSC-HVDC (Voltage source converter high voltage direct current) system linked islanded wind farm to adjust the power transmitted real-timely and keep the wind farm stable. The direct current control orientated toward voltage vector is also applied in converters to achieve decoupled control of each variables. The VSC-HVDC system and control strategy are modeled and simulated under wind fluctuation and grid fault by PSCAD software. The results show the power transmitted is regulated to be consistant with the wind power produced and dc voltage is controled to reference value by the proposed control strategy.
