Abstract :
As the dramatic development of wind power generation, the impact of wind power ramp events on power balance of power system becomes more and more serious. First, the uncertainties of wind power ramp events prediction is analysed and the model of wind power ramp event is established. Then, the risk indicator is proposed which represents the power shortage caused by wind power ramp events and is calculated with the Monte Carlo method. Finally, the IEEE RTS 24-bus system is used to verify the proposed method, the impact of wind power ramp events on the risk indicator is illustrated, the results show that the method is accurate and effective which can provide support to the operation of power system with wind power.
