Abstract :
In this paper, the Wind Driven Self Excited Induction Generator (SEIG) is used as the wind turbine for drive application. The SEIG is mathematically modelled to perform efficiently as a real time performance. The Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) is used which forms the bridge between the SEIG and the load. The VSI is a normal PWM Inverter used in this to provide a simple and cost effective system. The simple arrangement is used such that the efficiency of the system is high with minimised losses. The PWM Inverters (VSI) is used to convert the variable magnitude and variable frequency voltage into reliable constant voltage and constant frequency supply to drive the isolated load. The SEIG and other power electronic converter components are modelled through coding and simulation in MATLAB/SIMULINK7.10 (R2010b).
