Abstract
The driving force for decision making in power distribution system is the accurate estimate of the distribution states. Immense research work is being carried out on power system state estimation. In the modern scenario, the need of state estimation in distribution system is very essential. To accommodate that, this paper proposes two algorithms, one for placement of measurement and other for estimating bus voltage magnitude .The PSO and ANN are used for executing the algorithms and these are tested with IEEE and TNEB benchmark systems.
