Abstract
The importance of sustainability concept, especially in the context of seaports, has increased significantly in recent years as documented by the media interest and the number of published papers both from the general public and special interest groups like academics and corporate organizations. The goal of this paper is twofold. First, it offers a literature review on sustainability of container ports taking into consideration 334 papers published from 1985 to 2012. Second, it looks at port-related initiatives to gain a better insight on the research and market trends and how it relates to CogInfoCom.
