Abstract :
Stochastic Characterization of Aircraft Digital Avionics Electromagnetic Vulnerability: A Statistical Electromagnetics Approach • The hybrid Stat-EM approach provides a cost-effective solution that bridges statistical and deterministic methods in an overall process. • Reduces computational resource requirements. • Guides T&E, thereby reducing overall program development and life cycle costs by orders of magnitude. • Stat-EM technologies advance the best practices and understanding of aircraft EMI/V for digital electronic equipment, racks and cables installed within enclosed cavities. • Method to numerically simulate susceptibility test developed that is much more efficient than existing methods - Limits the number of plane waves that must be generated/solved for. • Investigations are continuing to determine how to best apply the Stat-EM approach and to expand the taxonomy use cases.
