Abstract :
This paper proposes a new direct power control (DPC) strategy of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) using matrix converters (MCs). In this method many advantages of MC such as lack of bulky dc-link capacitor are used and also grid side converter controller is emitted. Due to higher number of output voltage vectors in MCs in comparison with VSIs, input power factor of MC (grid side) is controlled and keep close to unit. Effects of voltage vectors on active and reactive power variations are investigated and a new switching table is proposed. Also, the role of DFIG as an active filter will be investigated when a nonlinear load is connected to utility grid. Simulation results show the effectiveness of proposed strategy.
