Abstract :
Promotion of power generation by locally available distributed generation sources is one of the solutions to present energy crisis. This paper focusses on integration of solar photovoltaic, mini hydro, diesel and battery energy storage system. Sources such as mini hydro and solar photovoltaic are clean, environment friendly and have ability to complement each other. The key intention of this work is to simulate and analyse the hybrid system. The analysis of proposed hybrid system is carried out in Matlab/Simulink package. Power management, control and stability aspects from perspectives of implementation are proposed and validated by simulation. In stabilising the system, diesel engine generator, dump load and battery are used as viable means. System analysed includes mix of synchronous and inverter based distributed generators and combination of different types of loads. Proposed System is tested for varying load, generation, unbalence, motor starting and fault conditions. From the simulation results it is found that Photovoltaic-Hydro-Battery energy storage system performs satisfactorily under different dynamic conditions, maintaining voltage & frequency within the limits.
