  • Abstract
    Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is emerging as a powerful platform deployed by most of the data collection applications including habitat monitoring, environmental observation, forecast system etc. In this paper, we proposed an efficient strategy for the highly dynamic and vulnerable WSNs, and we called our framework as Secure Routing and Traffic management Framework (SRTF). Securing the WSN from malicious attackers by exploiting the trust relations maintained between sensor nodes is the motivation behind our work. Integrity, authenticity, and availability of messages in the presence of adversaries are the major goals achieved by our secure routing strategy. In addition to trustworthy routing, we proposed some easy to adapt traffic management strategies to make our framework preferable to all WSN applications. The correctness of our framework is verified by simulation experiments conducted using OMNeTpp simulator. SRTF attains similar or better performance compared to existing routing and traffic management approaches to WSNs.
