Abstract :
When doctors make a decision of a treatment for recurrent patellar subluxation, they diagnoses the patello-femoral joint with palpation and medical images. As the problems of diagnosis, the results depends on their experience and medical knowledge. It results in divergences of diagnosis results. In addition, three dimensional analysis requires massive labor and time for them. Therefor the goal of this study is to develop an evaluation system for risk factors of the recurrent patellar subluxation to support the medical diagnosis. The proposed method evaluates patellar position and profile based on the anatomical reference points at the patello-femoral joint. The proposed method was applied to 18 knees, then, it could accurately separate them into non-subluxation and subluxation groups.
