Abstract :
We propose wavelength-reuse WDM-PON architecture with ring topology. Two access rings are controlled by one central office. Two wavelength bands are cross-wavelength reused as the light source by the two access rings for downstream and upstream modulation separately. The system capacity, as well as the network cover area can be doubled with this proposal. The user number can be further expanded with the presence of EDFA. A simulation is conducted to demonstrate the transmission performance at 10Gbps.
