Abstract :
This paper introduces an improved Eye Map method for analyzing the performance of the digital video channel. Unlike the conventional method, the improved method uses Synchronization Cut and Overlay Display rather than Synchronization Trigger and Overlay Display. In order to achieve accurate synchronization, we make use of the software clock recovery method, which brings no Clock recovery circuit noise into the measurement and zero clock recovery jitter too. By using synchronization cut, the newly proposed method can speed up the measurement by 100 to 1000 times and brings zero trigger jitter as well. The result has been proved that this newly proposed measurement method would be valid for evaluating the performance of the digital video channel.
