Abstract
The critical point to realize high-efficient OFDMA PON system is dynamic downstream bandwidth allocation (DDBA) which can improve the utilization of the downstream bandwidth, thereby reducing implementation complexity, fabricating cost and processing power consumption for future access network. In this paper, we explore the architecture of FULL-OFDMA PON system, research the process procedure and protocol of DDBA algorithm and summarize the measurement criteria of dynamic bandwidth allocation. Finally, using large-scale simulations, we demonstrate that in OFDMA-PON system the utilization of downstream bandwidth is greatly improved and the number of tenants shared one channel is greatly increased with DDBA algorithm. The realization of the Full-OFDMA PON system has a great value to optical access network and great help to development of Smart City because of its high utilization and low cost.
