  • Abstract
With the rapid growth of data for storage in redundant arrays of inexpensive disks (RAID), high-speed and efficient access to RAID has become a hotspot of research. FPGAs have already been successfully employed to increase data transmission speed over network. However, most of former researches were concentrated on single-FPGA platforms and in Gigabit Ethernet environment. In this paper, design and implementation of the Customized Multi-port Transport Protocol (CMTP) protocol is based on reliable IP protocol to access to RAID with 10G Ethernet by using multi-FPGA. Simulation results show that data transfer speed can reach 9.57Gb/s between FPGA and RAID server. Due to the software processing delay of CMTP Protocol running under the RAID server and the raid reading speed (600-800MB/s), file data transmission rate during actual system can achieve 3Gbps for each FPGA.
