Abstract :
Join is one of the most important operators in database query. Hash join is the most efficiency and scalability join method in database. However, existing problems like choosing appropriate bucket number and hash function in advance degrade hash join efficiency greatly. Such problem becomes much heavier in column store database system. In this paper, we present a new hash join method EIHJoinwhich eliminates duplication and establishes index within the given bucket. The probing cost will be largely reduced by using the created index. The experimental results performed in different types of data testify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.
