Abstract :
Biological activity in the ocean is a significant source of ambient noise at higher frequencies. This paper demonstrates a passive technique of shrimp localisation and density estimation using the sharp clicks produced by shrimps. The estimation of the location and the density of shrimps find important application in fisheries. These pre-estimations give an idea about where to fish for the shrimps. Passive detection of shrimps can also be used to investigate the environment of the ocean, because the shrimps are dominant only at a particular area of the ocean.
