Abstract
In order to enrich the acquisition means for the coherence index in the dynamic characteristics of inter-area oscillation(IAO), this paper proposed an integrated algorithm for tracking coherence of electromechanical oscillation using Masking Signal based Empirical Mode Decomposition (MS-EMD) and Correlation Analysis(CA). The case study has been carried out on a simplified system of Southeastern Australian power system, and the results show that the proposed algorithm is effective.
