Abstract :
A novel method to extract DEM based on IKONOS stereo-pairs is proposed. And its accuracy is assessed adopting checkpoint, profile and image analysis methods, respectively. Results show that the changes of elevation and image color of extracted DEM are basically agreement with the topographic map, but the latter has significantly detailed feature; the error in areas of larger terrain fluctuation is bigger than that in flat areas. It is not only fast and efficient to extract DEM based on IKONOS stereo-pairs, but also applicable to a wide range, which can meet some specific needs.
