Abstract :
This paper focuses on shot segmentation algorithms for H.264 compressed videos. The main method is to analyze H.264 video bit stream to macro block (MB) layer. We extract the MB type, the MB partition mode and other basic information and analyze the changing characteristics of relevant parameters when shot abrupt transitions happen. Finally, we conduct the experiment of shot abrupt transitions detection in JM. Experimental results show that the proposed segmentation algorithm can effectively detect the shot abrupt transitions for H.264 compressed videos.
