Abstract
Cu(In, Ga)S2 (CIGS) thin film and core-shell nanowire heterostructures are fabricated by low cost, solution based processes. While a standard process is used for the thin film solar cells, a reversed process is developed to fabricate nanowire solar cells which consist of ZnO/CdS core-shell nanowires embedded inside CIGS thin films. The formation of desired device structures with the expected materials is confirmed by various analytical techniques. Photovoltaic effects are investigated on these unique solar cell devices.
