Abstract :
Basic principles of Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) used to detect partial discharge (PD) in 10kV switchgear were described, and the influence of air humidity on PD was studied through the experiments. According to the signal amplitudes of TEV caused by PD at different humidity levels, the insulation levels of insulators in 10kV switchgear were assessed based on experience criterions.
