Abstract
Networked control systems (NCSs) have been widely used in industrial areas, and the application of network shows many advantages, while it also makes systems vulnerable to attacks from malicious outsiders. This brief analyses the security issues of data communication as well as the detection and response of cyber attacks based on TrueTime toolbox. We design a detection module on the basis of implementation of data encryption and decryption using Data Encryption Standard (DES) algorithm, furthermore, to protect NCSs from getting out of control, we design a response module. Then we model deception attacks and DOS attacks to test and verify the detection and response parts. According to the experimental results of a DC motor networked control system in TrueTime, our proposed secure mechanism shows its great feasibility and effectiveness.
