Inspirations for office document formats from web office

With the rapid development of Cloud Computing and Mobile Internet Technology, people gradually move rich client applications to browser-based thin client. This new development model of application brings great opportunities and challenges for the development of office document. Facing the requirements of Mobile Office and Collaborative Editing, domestic and foreign office software manufacturers have combined the development of office software with the application of network. By analysing the existing office document formats and the web office systems, this essay made a profound summary for their advantages and disadvantages. Based on those conclusions, future development ideas of the office document formats have been proposed. This research work has an important role in the future development of the office document format.
