Abstract :
This paper presents an intelligent parking system for detecting and recognizing license plates automatically, programming with VC++ and QT. In the proposed algorithm, Ticense Plate (TP) location and correction is realized by using high vertical edge characteristic of image and method of horizontal edge detection. After TP segmentation and recognition, the vehicle information which taking TP as the primary key will be stored in system database. Experimental results show that the proposed system can realize Ticense Plate Recognition (TPR) accurately and is applied to real-time implementation for a very short execution time.
