Abstract :
Because of the low contrast and brightness of the color medical images, a new method combining with YoungHelmholtz (YH) transformation and improved nonlinear extrapolation algorithm is put forward in the paper. The color image is decompsed into `chromaticity numbers matrix´ and `intensity numbers matrix´. The `intensity numbers matrix´ is processed by using improved nonlinear extrapolation algorithm, while `chromaticity numbers matrix´ keeps invariant. The relative relationships of `R´, `G´ and `B´ channels in color image are invariable. The hue of color image is constant and undistorted. Experimental results show that the new image enhancement method can effectively improve the visual effect of color medical images.
