Innovation in transportation and mobility: Nord Pas-de-Calais regional initiatives led by Valenciennes University

The aim of this plenary talk is to share with the audience our knowledge and advancements in research and innovation in Transportation and Mobility. First part will be devoted to the main regional research projects leaded by the University of Valenciennes and Hainaut Cambresis in partnership with several Universities and Research Centers. Mainly two major structuring projects will be described: the CISIT, International Campus on Safety and Intermodality in Transportation (http://www.cisit.org/) and the IRT RAILENIUM Technological Research Institute for railway infrastructure, equipments and systems (http://www.railenium.eu/). The research topics as well as the academic and industrial partners will be presented. The CISIT research topics cover fundamentals and application to ground transport - railway and automotive - while the IRT RAILENIUM focuses on research and innovation on railway infrastructure. Second part will focus on some scientific projects linked to ground transportation in CISIT. Last part will give the future of innovation and applied researches for IRT RAILENIUM.
