  • Abstract
Research work presented in this paper deals with the assistance of train drivers in case of the signaling system ERTMS dysfunction. In this situation the train driver could use an emergency train stop. Or he must decrease the train speed to its limit, which is 30 km/h. Then the question is: What do we could do when the signaling system ERTMS is broken down? We try here to answer to this question. The solution that we propose is to carry out a new system to help the driver. This system must help the driver to continue his task with guaranty of the optimization and the railway traffic safety. This paper shows our application field and gives an idea of the steps to achieve this new system. In fact, the steps are the modeling of railway line, the conception of the system architecture and the simulation of different scenarios for the new system validation. Here the first step is shown, the model is given in the last paragraph.
