Abstract :
An image as two dimensional function of spatial coordinate system and value of these discrete quantities. Imaging is logical process with noise. This noise affects significant characteristics and information of image and it is difficult to remove or efficiently reduce it. Images of biological objects acquisition through different modals as X-Ray, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Laser Imaging. These images with low or high exposure to capturing modals, often suffer with noise arising from the sources and from acquisition hardware. For noise removal purpose, many methods have been existing. The most correct of which are the wavelet transform and contourlet transform with direction. In this paper, proposed algorithm based on logarithmic contourlet with threshold. The yielded results by applying the proposed method on data set images are better than frost filter which is weiner filter variant, adaptive lee and kuan filter methods. We use the signal to noise ratio and processing time as measure of visual quality of resulted images and execution time.
