Abstract
The decision making is the most important activity for every organization. Group decision making (GDM) is the main method in the decision making process. GDM is the way to find the best alternative from some possible alternatives based on integrating the preferences or opinions of experts. Preference aggregation method is one kind of GDM approaches. The ranking order of alternatives of each expert or decision maker could be different in GDM process. The main purpose of preference aggregation method is to reach a consensus ranking solution by aggregating the different ranking order of each expert. Therefore, the goal of this study is to present four criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of each preference aggregation method. Two data sets are applied to compare five traditional preference aggregation methods by using the proposed criteria in this paper. Finally, the conclusion and future research are discussed at the end of this paper.
