Abstract :
A method for the directional receiving of VLF signals on mobile platform is presented. In this method, the magnetic antenna pattern is arbitrarily rotated by weighting the output voltage of the orthogonal magnetic antennas. By this way, the directional receiving of VLF signal is realized with higher accuracy, without requiring rotating the magnetic antennas mechanically or changing the movement direction of the mobile platform. This method is also used in the interference situation where zero of the synthetical beam is set toward the jamming direction to greatly suppress the jamming signal. The presented method significantly improved the receiving reliability of VLF messages, and can be applied to U-antenna, H-antenna and loop antenna whose antenna patterns can not be rotated by mechanical rotation.
