Abstract
In medical image processing, feature details are important to preserve while enhancing the images. Presence of speckle affects the quality and contrast resolution. A method based on combination of rational dilation and wavelet transform techniques to enhance the speckle noise affected medical image is presented in this paper. Experimental results shows that the use of bilateral filter and different thresholding schemes are applied to the noisy RAWDT coefficients, which improved the visual quality of the ultrasound images.
