Abstract :
In the arena of E-learning a Subject Matter Expert is a person with vast expertise in his domain subject (producer). SME´s generally use Brute force approaches towards content creation when it comes to writing an E-lesson / Ecourse by using standard office automation tools to create an Electronic course. This approach leads to many complications for various stake holders in the E-learning ecosystem including the SME himself and at times leads to rework and waste of precious SME time and effort. The paper aims at summarizing a collection of field tested good content writing practices in the form of a SME centric content development model called ESD. The proposed model Extraction Storage and Documentation (ESD) deals with the complexities that arise during the 3 basic phases of an electronic course creation search and extraction, extracted contents storage and thus stored contents (traceability) documentation.
